The cultivation of Madonie manna
the pride of Bergi Bio Agriturismo
Manna in a journey through the tradition of Sicilian cuisine, between centuries-old history and taste
Manna, a precious sap extracted from ash trees in the Madonie mountains, is a unique product that embodies centuries of tradition and legend. Known as 'stardust' for its pure white and shiny appearance, manna is harvested every summer in the countryside around Castelbuono, one of the few places in the world where this practice survives.
Thanks to the dedication of passionate ash tree growers, this thousand-year-old tradition has been handed down from generation to generation, becoming a symbol of the biodiversity and agricultural culture of the area.
