The Bergi Wellness Apiary
the first in Sicily, protecting the Sicilian black bee
Bergi is part of the Italian Apitherapy Association: bees provide health and wellbeing for the future of mankind and the planet
Bergi's Apiario del Benessere® is the first apiary built in Sicily and is a source of great pride for all of us. It is a two-minute walk from the agritourism near Castelbuono, in the Sicilian Madonie mountains.
The apiary, facing south, has been designed to allow visitors to benefit from a series of treatments connected with the fantastic world of bees: apiaroma, apisound, apipetdidattica, apiturismo. Bergi's Apiario del Benessere® is open from May to October by appointment.

Bergi and the choice of beekeeping to protect the biodiversity of the territory
Beekeeping has always been a characteristic activity for the Bergi company, which in 2008, together with other beekeepers, worked with Slow Food to avert the danger of extinction of the Sicilian Black Bee breed - the only one it breeds - by creating a special Presidium in which each beekeeper had to ensure the purity of the bee by breeding the species on a smaller island (Lampedusa in Bergi's case) as well as in their own territory.

All the sensory experiences in Bergi's Apiary of Wellbeing
- Apiaroma: immersing yourself in the scents of the hive, rich in resins and essential oils that are beneficial for respiratory health.
- Apisound: listening in silence to the buzzing of the bees, the sound of nature that promotes relaxation and meditation. In the apiary area, we have set up seating for those who wish to linger and engage in activities such as reading. You can also bring your own mat for practices such as yoga.
- Apipetdidattica: small groups of people, including school groups, can stay inside the apiary while the beekeeper explains the life of the hive from outside.
- Apiturismo: we strive to promote our Apiario del Benessere® (Wellness Apiary) and turn it into a tourist attraction by offering hospitality, information and bee-related products. Our mission is to promote the development of apiturismo in Italy. Find out more at https://www.apiterapiaitalia.com/
