
Madonie's natural park enlarge on Palermo province, in the area of Caltavuturo, Castelbuono, Castellana Sicula, Cefalù, Collesano, Geraci Siculo, Gratteri, Isnello, Petralia Soprana, Petralia Sottana, Polizzi Generosa, Pollina, San Mauro Castelverde, Scillato, Sclafani Bagni.
The most important reliefs are: Pizzo Carbonara (m. 1.979), Pizzo Antenna (m 1.977), M. San Salvatore (m 1.912), M. Ferro (m 1.906), M. Mufara (m 1.865), M. Quacella (m 1.869), M. dei Cervi (m 1.794), M. Scalone (m 1.654) and Pizzo Dipìlo (m 1.385).
From the botanical point of view Madonies represents one of the most characteristic centre of all Mediterranean. In the coast we can find the typical mediterranean maquis, heather, mastic tree, broom and strawberry tree.
At low altitude we can find oak-tree and holm-oak, while higher we can find oak and beech. It must notice the presence of the madonie's fir-tree.
In Madonie' park we can find more than the half of vegetables kind present in sicily, such as Madonie's violet, Madonie'a astragalus, Madonie's garlic, Cupane's broom and sicilian fairy linen. There are also many orchids. In Madonie's park we find more than ninenty kinds of butterflies. Between the Mammalia we can find marten, fox, wild cat, royal eagle and Bonelli's eagle.
Madonie's natural park is opened all the year.
From Bergi Holiday Farm it is possible to join Giants Holly Path, extended for more than 3,5 Km. It is possible to cover it in two hours.
