Castelbuono
Founds of greek and roman civilization have been found in Bergi necropolis, while to byzantin civilization is given Ypsigro hamlet. But we can say that Castlbuono history starts durinf Aragonese period, under th power of Ventimiglia family.
By this family was in fact build, in 1316, the fmmous Castle. Today in the castel it have been found a Museum. To see the Cappella Paltina where it is preserved S.Anna skulls relic.
Other monuments to see:
Mother Church, also called "Matrice Vecchia", built in 1362, which preserves precious frescos representing Christ live and death, and the Polittico, made by Antonello da Saliba, Antonello da Messina nephew.
San Francesco church (1332), where we can admmire Gagini's Madonna.
Ventimiglia Mausoleum, where is is preserved Francesco IV Ventimiglia sarcophagus.
To visit Francesco Minà Palumbo Museum, in Santa Venera ex-convent. In the museum there are the madonie's naturalistic founds collected by Francesco Minà Palumbo.
